They are non-technical, so there&#8217;s no excuse, except laziness. Logo Optimization<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">Optimizing your logo is so effective and so easy to do, yet many SEO companies and website owners still miss this one. Of course, your logo should link to your home page because this is a usability and industry standard. That being said, <strong>your logo should be optimized for the key phrase you&#8217;re targeting on the home page<\/strong><span class=\"gmw_\">. For example, if you sell pizza in New York City don&#8217;t name your logo &#8220;logo.<span class=\"gm_ gm_5c50807e-f8b9-b014-3591-16a333d73703 gm-spell\">jpg<\/span><span class=\"gmw_\">&#8220;. Help Google understand your website better by naming your logo file &#8220;<span class=\"gm_ gm_e057d19f-d34d-d7a9-8c1f-e7dbe0beabd5 gm-spell\">nyc<\/span><span class=\"gmw_\">-pizza.<span class=\"gm_ gm_885809b4-f2cc-f7cf-274b-6eb8cf38f286 gm-spell\">jpg<\/span><span class=\"gmw_\">&#8221; or &#8220;<span class=\"gm_ gm_80f93aa7-1f3d-6ddc-1437-0e8c9b51f7ac gm-spell\">nyc<\/span><span class=\"gmw_\">-pizza-delivery.<span class=\"gm_ gm_25b7acbf-a515-b1cf-9709-784873f73d4d gm-spell\">jpg<\/span>&#8220;. In other words, name the file after what ever key phrase you&#8217;re targeting. The alt tag should also be named using your home page targeted key phrase. That is how you optimize your logo. Check it out.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>2. Image Link Optimization<\/h2>\n<p>When you are link building for yourself or a client, build some of those links using images. The popular and common thing to do is to link your targeted key phrase to the web page you are optimizing, but that should only be part of your strategy. When you build links with images, don&#8217;t forget to optimize those images. This can be a little tricky because sometimes you don&#8217;t have control over someone else&#8217;s website. You may have to beg or grovel a bit, but it&#8217;s worth it.<\/p>\n<p>Optimizing your image link is very similar to how you optimized your logo above.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 14px;\">Name the file using your\u00a0targeted\u00a0keyword or phrase (remember, no underscores)<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Add an alt tag using your targeted key phrase<\/li>\n<li>Link to your targeted web page<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>3. Bold, Italicize or Underline Keywords<\/h2>\n<p>This one is so easy, but people always miss it. <strong>Google wants to know what you are emphasizing to your users<\/strong><span class=\"gmw_\">. They can tell which words you emphasize by looking for words or phrases that are <span class=\"gm_ gm_4ec00d6f-0ea0-9b02-b5cf-2fc818ee9fc9 gm-spell\">bolded<\/span>, italicized, or underlined. This gives them a better indication of what that particular web page is about, leading to higher rankings.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>4. 2,000+ Word Pages<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.quicksprout.com\/2012\/12\/20\/the-science-behind-long-copy-how-more-content-increases-rankings-and-conversions\/\" target=\"_blank\">Neil Patel<\/a><span class=\"gmw_\"> first brought this to my attention in a blog he posted a while back. He noticed that web pages with 2,000 words or more overwhelmingly ranked higher <span class=\"gm_ gm_b135edc5-9b4c-8351-d4df-419af15f6248 gm-spell\">onpage<\/span> #1 of Google. This doesn&#8217;t mean to start throwing a ton of crappy content on your pages. Be strategic, informative, clean, and simple. Here&#8217;s what Neil had to say:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.quicksprout.com\/2012\/12\/20\/the-science-behind-long-copy-how-more-content-increases-rankings-and-conversions\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-909\" alt=\"Neil Patel Quick Sprout\" src=\"https:\/\/mysiteauditor.com\/blog\/\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/neil-patel.jpg\" width=\"572\" height=\"744\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mysiteauditor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/neil-patel.jpg 572w, https:\/\/mysiteauditor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/neil-patel-230x300.jpg 230w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 572px) 100vw, 572px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Don&#8217;t over stuff those 2,000 words with your targeted key phrase. <a href=\"http:\/\/moz.com\" target=\"_blank\">Moz.com<\/a> did a study a while back and found that using your targeted key phrase 2-3 times was most effective. Keyword density was not as big of a factor.<\/p>\n<h2>5. Link to Authoritative Sites<\/h2>\n<p>Inbound links are not all that matters. Link to other relevant and authoritative web pages. Google will think your page is more credible if you link to a relevant site that they think has great information and a great reputation.
